How Toparchy works
Toparchy is a strategy and collectible game played on a living world map. You build a domain of real-world location tiles, group them into thematic Corridors, and compete for standing as a Toparch. The map’s economy moves with the real world — so knowledge of the world is always an edge over spending alone.
Claim tiles
Every tile is a real place on the world map. Most you can claim outright with Influence, priced by rarity and Prestige Score. The rarest arrive another way: in the daily Drop windows listed in the Dispatch, or in 24-hour sealed Auctions.
Build Corridors
Group tiles into thematic Corridors — Geography, Culture, History, Nature, Sport, Economy. Seal a Corridor — hold every region it requires — and its synergy multiplies the income those tiles pay.
Earn Prestige Income
Your tiles pay Prestige Income — Influence, every cycle, even while you are away — and a sealed Corridor multiplies what its tiles pay. Prestige itself is your standing: it never gets spent, and it drives your rank from Wanderer all the way to Toparch.
Ride the Surges
Real-world happenings — tourism seasons and cultural events — trigger time-limited Surge Events that boost the Influence income of the tiles they touch. Knowing the world is coming is how you get there first.
Contest
Tiles can be challenged. Initiate a Contest for a rival’s tile, defend the ones you hold, and outmanoeuvre other Toparchs in sealed bidding for the map’s most-wanted locations.
Showcase your domain
Your domain lives in the Grand Gallery — a single view of every Corridor you’ve sealed and the empire you’ve built. Rise from Wanderer to Toparch as it grows.
Influence — what you spend
Your working capital. Claim tiles, place Contest bids, and initiate Contests with it. Your tiles earn it every cycle, and a sealed Corridor multiplies what they pay.
Prestige — what you are
Your standing. It is never spent — it is measured from the tiles you hold and the Corridors you seal, so it falls if you lose them, and it decides your rank from Wanderer to Toparch.
